Belongs to cholinesterase inhibitors. The individual optical isomers, due to the chiral phosphorus atom, show different insecticidal activity and acetylcholinesterase inhibition ability. Mainly used in cotton, corn, sugar beets, soybeans, potatoes, vegetables, tobacco and other crops, to control pests (especially lepidopteran pests) and mites. May cause cotton to turn slightly red. Probromophos is an ultra-efficient organophosphorus insecticide with contact and stomach toxicity effects, which is specially used to kill thorn-suction mouthpiece pests.
